Belle Group continues to lead the way in the control of Hand Arm Vibration on Light Construction Equipment. Research and assessment undertaken by the Health and Safety Executive have identified guideline exposure levels at which an employer must undertake assessment and work schedules to safeguard an operative.

Belle is the first manufacturer to submit vibration plates for scrutiny by OPERC (Off-Highway Plant and Equipment Research Centre) the independent testing facility at Loughborough University.

The tests found that the Belle range of PCX plates performed extremely well, easily exceeding current safety guidelines due to their unique patented vibration reducing design.

Since the first concerns were identified regarding Hand Arm Vibration, Belle has been the industry leading company in vibration control. Belle was the first to market with a fully redesigned machine to limit vibration launched in 2001 a full year before European legislation became active.

Now on our third generation machine, Belle have continued to design out vibration with vibration reducing frames, unique base plate, handle isolators and a tuned vibrator resulting in a range of machines which deliver class leading performance.

Now supported by independent collaborative results as follows;
PCX 350 Honda Petrol (350mm plate compactor) 1.6 m/s²
PCX 400 Honda Petrol (400mm plate compactor) 2.1 m/s²
PCX 450 Honda Petrol (450mm plate compactor) 1.9 m/s²
PCX 500 Honda Petrol (500mm plate compactor) 2.0 m/s²

HAV Timeline - A Belle View:

2001 - Belle re-invented plate compactors to limit HAV. Independent testing by AV Technology (Stockport) proves Belle has significantly lower HAV levels than competitors.
2002 - EU Physical Agents directive (2002/44/EC) is enacted to control vibration exposure
2003 - Belle launched our second generation machine giving the operator enhanced protection to achieve an eight hour safe usage time (vibration measured to BS 5349 using EN500-4)
2005 - The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 (the Vibration Regulations), came into force on 6 July 2005 and aim to protect workers from risks to health from vibration.
2005 - Third generation of Belle Group compactors launched to further reduce their market leading HAV levels.
2006 - Belle Group, the first manufacturer to submit single direction compactors for testing by the independent body OPERC.

Sep 2004 BELLE MOURNS THE LOSS OF ITS FIRST EMPLOYEE
It is with deep regret that the directors of Derbyshire based Belle Group would like to inform all who knew Bernard Cope that he sadly passed away on September 15th following a long illness.
Mr. Cope, 61, was the original employee of Belle Engineering in the early 1960's when he joined Doug Blackhurst, the founder of the company, to help develop the product range. Bernard was a Director of the company for many years, latterly setting up and managing the Polish operation. His contribution to the growth of the company, its products and advanced production techniques cannot be over-estimated, he was very well respected and his endless enthusiasm will be greatly missed.

Jul 2004 EXCLUSIVE DIAMOND BLADE DEAL BETWEEN BELLE & BUILDERS' MERCHANT
Belle Group of Sheen in Derbyshire has negotiated a deal with builders' merchant EH Smith by which the company has secured exclusive rights to sell the Belle range of diamond blades across the West Midlands through its Shirley, Cannock and Stourbridge branches.

Family owned EH Smith was established in 1922 and has grown to become a substantial organisation with a total of eight branches covering the Midlands and SE England.

Since increasing the range of Belle products stocked over the last three years or so from just concrete mixers to include compaction plates, pokers and screeds, EH Smith reports a fivefold increase in turnover of Belle business and now looks forward to a further increase with the diamond blade deal.

According to the company's regional tool sales manger, Paula Read-Kenny: “The response to our involvement with the Belle blades has been fantastic. Our customers particularly like the application chart printed on the back of every blade package which makes correct choice for every application very easy and we have been delighted with the marketing support provided by Belle.”

Apr 2004 MIXING IT WITH THE BIG BOYS
This year Belle Group celebrates its 40th year of business. Iain Aubusson met Sales Director Rob Caddy and discovered that the company has much more to offer than just a renowned range of mixers.

For many, a 40th birthday is something to shy away from. However, a healthy injection of fresh pursuits and new interests can be enough to stave off even the most severe of mid-life crises. For the Belle Group, the saying that ‘life begins at 40’ could not be more apt.

With an array of new products supplementing its existing range, Belle is currently enjoying a new lease of life and is more than happy to shout about its age, not least through its year-long competition which is giving builders the opportunity to win one of the company’s prized products. Also up for grabs are 40 cans of beer every month, and a weekend break in New York for the overall winner.

While the company is keen to promote the recent expansion of its product portfolio, the anniversary also serves as the perfect opportunity to remind the industry exactly what brought the Belle name to prominence in the first place – its distinctive orange mixers. In a market that has experienced a deluge of foreign imports over the last decade, Rob Caddy is quick to pinpoint the factors that have ensured the continuing success of a machine that made its first steps into the industry consciousness at a small trade show in 1964.

“The company was actually formed in 1963 as Belle Engineering (Sheen Ltd),” says Rob. It is a name that hints at the fundamental principle that underpins the company’s success: “It was all based on one engineer – Doug Blackhurst – who used to wander around this place in his overalls. He had no truck with accountants and the like – it was all about the engineering; how to make the product the best available.”

This is a mantra that has been upheld throughout the company’s history. Although the mixer market is far more crowded today than it was 40 years ago, Belle’s Research & Development team, backed up by extensive testing facilities, has yet to uncover anything that seriously challenges its belief that the range can outperform any of its competitors’.

Always keen to stay one step ahead of the competition, it has taken an ongoing process of product refinement to ensure that the product remains at the forefront of the mixer market. “Essentially, we’re now on version five,” explains Rob. “Strangely enough, one of the most critical stages in its development was getting it into a box – it was nothing to do with the machine as such, but since you could disassemble the mixer and put it into a box, our customer base changed slightly. The larger merchants were then able to take the product on for the retail market, in addition to the ones available for hire.”

Subhead
“These days it is virtually at the impulse purchase level,” he continues. “When you’ve got a £6,000 job to do, £200 for a machine that can last a lifetime represents excellent value for money. It’s cheaper than a lot of the power tools are now. We ensure the longevity of our machines by testing them for 1,000 hours, so they’re not designed to be replaced every few years.

“They are also subjected to a drop test, to ensure that they can survive a few bumps in the distribution process or off the back of a tailgate on site. These are important factors because as you grab the handles and pull it off, it lands on the wheels and the stand, which could shorten the frame. Therefore, it could close the centres in on the drive belt or distort the drive mechanism, so we demand that our products withstand six drops and still work.”

Indeed, PB can vouch for such claims regarding the lifespan of Belle’s mixers, having unearthed a tradesman who was still reliant on his 1967 model only a few years ago, as part of a competition run in conjunction with the company.

The latest product developments provide a significant indicator of how the company plans to expand, with a number of new products in the pipeline – although the details of some of these remain closely guarded secrets for the time being. Adding to its existing array of concreting equipment – including mixers, screeds and pokers – and compaction machines, from rollers to forward plates for use in light construction, the company has recently launched an 8-hour plate. With the HSE currently clamping down on the age-old problem of ‘white finger’, the product is designed for day-long use, alleviating the inherent dangers of vibrating equipment.

The company’s only concern, as Rob points out, is that the product is so free from vibration for the user that it is hard to believe it can be effective: “The danger is that people don’t think it’s doing the job because you can’t feel any vibrations through your hand, but you need only look at the results to see that it works as well as anything else on the market.”

Also new to the Belle range is an array of diamond blades. Rob explains the decision to diversify into this area of the industry: “Nowadays, the general builder will use diamond blades – it is not such an exclusive product. For about 18 months we researched the various types of blades we would need to bring in to meet the UK market. You’ve got to look at the bond and what constitutes the diamond blade segment. Again, we were concerned with selling on quality, so we weren’t looking at the very bottom end of the market.”

In order to simplify the selection process, the blades have also been categorised to suit different users’ needs. “There’s the silver range which is a general purpose blade, the gold range for the contractor, and the platinum for the professional who uses blades day-in day-out and wants to select a suitable blade for the particular material he is cutting that day, and for the best possible price,” explains Rob. “If you start trying to cut a range of materials with one blade, then it’s naturally a compromise. So we’ve introduced a selection of blades that allows users to match their purchases to their usage needs.”

It is from the modest base of a 20 by 20ft wooden shed that the company has grown to incorporate operations as far-reaching as Poland, America, Russia and Malaysia. With the latest additions to the product portfolio set to enhance its reputation still further, we can expect to see the Belle name around our sites for at least another 40 years yet.

Apr 2004 FIRST DELIVERY OF BELLE GROUP’S NEW ROLLER
The first Belle twin drum walk-behind roller to be sold in the UK has recently been delivered to Hire!Freeman of Telford in Shropshire.
Supplied by Oswald Record Plant Sales (Central) of Birmingham, the BWR650 joins a fleet of some 25 ride-on rollers and was ordered to meet a particular request for a walk-behind unit required on long term hire by local ashalt contractor GR Minton & Sons.
Commenting on the acquisition, John Freeman said: “There appears to be a growing trend towards this type of roller and the Belle machine is an excellent example and has been very well thought out. In particular, it is very easy to transport with the handle raised to the vertical position, it has a good brake and dead mans handle and it is powered by a quiet, electric start single cylinder Kubota diesel engine.”
In fact, so confident is Hire!Freeman with its new roller that associate company Traction Equipment Services of Stafford has also decided to place an order for a unit.

Apr 2004 NEW 8 HOURS + PERFORMANCE PLATE COMPACTORS FROM BELLE
Belle Group has announced the introduction of the PCX and PCLX ranges of 8 hours+ performance plate compactors which reduce hand/arm vibration to the lowest levels of any machine currently available on the market.

Belle has always been at the forefront of technology to meet UK safety regulations and even its previous models of compactor met the existing requirements concerning hand/arm vibration levels. However, these new ‘X’ versions now offer operators a full day’s safe working with maximum safe operating times ranging from 602 to 930 minutes depending on application.
The PCLX lightweight units have plate widths of 320 and 400 mm and the heavy-duty, professional PCX versions are available in a choice of four plate widths from 350 to 500 mm. In addition, each model is available in ‘Dual Force’ specification to comply with HAUC regulations and able to provide compaction levels equal to those produced by a large double drum roller.

Apr 2004 IMPROVING THE QUALITY AND SPEED OF LAYING OF CONCRETE SLABS
The techniques for laying good quality concrete slabs is well established in the case of large areas laid by slipform pavers and laser screeding equipment. However, at the other end of the scale, where smaller areas are concerned, much older techniques are still in use - often resulting in poor quality finished products.

To help with these frequently laid areas from shed bases up to small factory floors, much assistance is on hand in the shape of easy to use equipment designed to assist with the three main stages - vibration, levelling and finishing.

For the highest strength concrete,
it is important to remove trapped air and this is best achieved by vibrating with a poker, available in a choice of hand held electric, petrol driven via flexible shaft and pneumatic.

For normal slab work however, pokers are not always essential if professional levelling machinery is employed in place of the all too often seen scaffold plank.

The latest range of products currently available from Belle Group will vibrate and level concrete without the need for screed rails. In particular, the Easy Screed Pro is rapidly gaining popularity as a time saving machine for ‘free screeding’. This technique, ‘free’ from the restrictions of formwork, screed rails or shuttering, produces excellent results at widths ranging from 1.5 to 6 m. The unit consists of a choice of 9 aluminimum beam lengths to which is attached a clamp-on 4-stroke power unit complete with adjustable operating handles. For maximum flexibility, the beam can be reversed and used as a traditional beam screed.

For conventional formwork jobs Belle Group also markets a choice of Porto Screed, Pro Screed and the spinning tube Roller Striker - all with the ability to be extended to suit all slab widths up to 25 m.

Finishing the slab largely depends on what the finished surface is going to be used for but the stippled lines left by a plank used as the tamping tool are certainly not ideal being and also tend to collect water and dirt.

A good surface can be achieved rapidly with the right tools which, in their simplest form, consist of different types of floats up to 1.2 m wide mounted on handles long enough to reach right across the slab. The action of floating fills in and smoothes out any surface irregularities and remixes the surface for additional strength. This is important because vibrating and tamping wet concrete leaves the surface separated into water, cement and sand and will therefore be weak if left in this state. If a textured finish is required for slip resistance or to provide a key for a topping, special float and brush combinations are also available.
For larger areas, a range of power trowels are available which have a set of four rotating blades, normally driven by a petrol engine. Diameters vary from 600 mm to fit through a standard doorway up to 1200 mm for high productivity on large slabs. In operation, these machines are first used to float the surface and then, as the concrete cures, finishing blades are fitted to produce a surface that is flat, smooth, dust free and very strong.
Even if things should go wrong for any reason there are surface treatment machines able to retrieve the situation. For example, various types of grinder can be used to remove high spots, correct levels and remove splatter or raised joints.

Mar 2004 BELLE GROUP AT THE COLOGNE PRACTICAL WORLD EXHIBITION
Belle Group of the UK will be exhibiting a wide selection of products on its stand including the legendary Minimix portable concrete mixer which celebrates 40 years of production in 2004.

Of particular interest will be a new range of diamond blades which are available in a choice of three grades and a total of nine types to suit every application.

The top grades feature double laser welded 10 mm segments designed to give good speed of cutting combined with excellent value for money and blades recommended for use on abrasive materials and asphalt have deep draught segments to eliminate under cutting. Also, soft cores enable this new range of blades to tolerate more abuse than most other makes.

Belle will also be displaying the Minipac plate compactor which, although light in weight, can match the performance of much heavier models thanks to the unique design of its base plate.

Finally, the company will be promoting its Megavib hand held concrete vibrating system. This system comprises a high frequency poker, flexible drive shaft and electric drive unit to provide a highly portable and effective unit for removing trapped air from small areas of wet concrete.
2004 marks the 40th anniversary of Belle Group’s legendary Minimix concrete mixer - still a firm favourite with both builders and tool hire shops throughout the world.

First seen in public in 1964, the compact Minimix was quick to make its mark because the launch happened to coincide with one of the most rapid growth periods seen by the tool hire industry. This Mk 1 model also had the huge attraction of a totally enclosed gearbox which provided superb reliability in the tough building industry environment.

The machine has been subject to continuous improvement over the years, with such highlights as an engine cover in 1972, the first boxed unit available in 1992 and the current moulded cover top and fixed drive belt introduced in 1999. The most recent changes were made last year when the petrol engine option was changed to Honda’s latest GXH50 unit to provide extremely quiet running and reduced emissions.

To celebrate the 40 year milestone, Belle is running a special campaign during 2004 which involves placing a numbered birthday card into the drum of every mixer that leaves the factory. Each month a draw will take place to find out which customer has won 40 bottles of beer. Then, in September, all card numbers will be entered into a final draw and two lucky people will be jetting off with their partners for a weekend in New York.

Commenting on the company’s 40 years of mixer production Belle’s Chairman Ron Blackhurst states “ the position of no1 supplier is a position we have not taken for granted. Over the years we have continued to enhance an innovative machine that performs well. As a Group we have now applied this commitment to design and good engineering across the range of construction equipment and aim to set the standards for high performance plant and tools ”
Belle Group will once again be extending a warm welcome to all visitors to its stand on which will be displayed a wide selection of its popular concreting and compaction equipment.

Feb 2004 NEW RANGE OF DIAMOND BLADES FROM BELLE
Drawing on its many years experience of diamond blades and associated cutting equipment, Belle Group of Sheen in Derbyshire has introduced a complete new line-up of diamond blades which are available in three grades - Platinum, Gold and Silver - depending on the intended application and material to be cut.

These new products are the result of an intensive worldwide research programme undertaken by Belle to determine the exact requirements of both contractors and rental outlets.

The Platinum and Gold ranges are designed for professional and trade use and give good speed of cut combined with excellent value for money and life expectancy. Both these grades feature 10 mm double laser welded diamond segments of which all but the last mm is fully useable.

These two top grades are sub-divided into the four categories of hard, general use, abrasive and asphalt with blade diameters ranging from 115 mm up to 450 mm. The latter two categories feature deep draught segments to eliminate under cutting.

The Silver, budget grade of blades are aimed at the general building trade when a lower cost item with good performance is required.

All these new blades have higher quality cores than most other makes, enabling them to tolerate more abuse with the result that core fractures are kept to an absolute minimum.

Belle Group has amassed many years experience in the use of diamond blades within the construction industry and is therefore able to offer a very high level of service to both hire companies and end users, particularly in offering advice on the correct choice of blade for every application.

Jan 2004 BELLE GROUP CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF MINIMIX PRODUCTION AT HIRE SHOW 2004 Stand no: 222
Belle Group will once again be extending a warm welcome to all visitors to its stand on which will be displayed a wide selection of its popular concreting and compaction equipment.

In particular, 2004 marks the 40th anniversary of the company’s legendary Minimix concrete mixer - still a firm favourite with builders and tool hire shops - and a special display will celebrate this impressive milestone.

First seen in public in 1964, Belle’s Minimix was quick to make its mark because the launch happened to coincide with one of the most rapid growth periods seen by the tool hire industry.

The machine has been subject to continuous improvement over the years, mainly in reaction to the demands of hirers. The most recent changes took place during 2003 when the petrol engine option was changed to Honda’s latest GXH50 unit to provide extremely quiet running and reduced emissions.

2004 will therefore be an exciting year for Minimix promotion throughout the building industry and Belle is planning a strong marketing campaign, including special merchandising material from which all hirers can benefit. A visit to stand 222 for further information on the promotions is therefore a must.

In addition to this 40th anniversary celebration, Belle will be exhibiting a new range of floor saws plus an exciting development in plate compactor technology designed to keep Belle at the very forefront of technology to provide maximum compaction combined with minimum levels hand/arm vibration.

Oct 2003 UK FIRM BELLE GROUP SET TO LAUNCH SUPER-EFFICIENT ASPHALT COMPACTORS
Following the outstanding success of Belle’s Group’s ‘Dual Force’ asphalt plate compactors in the UK, the company is now to launch these impressive machines in the USA via its subsidiary organization, Belle Inc. out of Roanoke in Virginia.

Designed to meet worldwide highways reinstatement standards, Belle’s patented vibrating plates are as effective as using conventional rollers and often even better. As a result of this outstanding compaction performance these ‘Dual Force’ models have become the No. 1 choice in the UK for compacting both asphalt and fill materials in trench reinstatement work.

Belle’s unique plate design enables it to produce up to five times the compaction force of a similar weight conventional plate by incorporating a second, smaller area of plate which only comes into play once initial compaction has been achieved by the full plate dimensions.

This principal is easily understood if you consider the effect of a stiletto shoe compared with a snow shoe. Even a light woman will cause considerable damage, or compaction, to a floor surface because her weight is concentrated on a tiny area of heel whereas a heavy man will easily be supported on soft snow when his weight is spread over a large area when wearing special snow shoes.

In addition to the outstanding results obtained by using this new range of compactors, Belle is also an acknowledged world leader in the development of machines with very low levels of hand/arm vibration. Its plates have therefore been carefully developed to ensure harmful vibrations transmitted to the operator are kept to an absolute minimum, hence allowing safe extended use.

May 2003 BELLE AND HEWDEN WORK CLOSELY ON PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
In recent months Hewden Hire Centres has been working in close co-operation with the Belle Group of Sheen in Derbyshire which it recognises as one of the UK’s leading maufacturers of compaction equipment.

Belle already enjoys a proven reputation for reducing hand/arm vibration levels and increasing compaction performance with its ‘Dual Force’ range of plates. However, by working with Hewden, Belle has been able to fast track its ability to keep pace with the UK’s latest health and safety requirements and, at the same time, develop equipment to match the unique demands of the plant hire industry, including a product branding strategy.

Because Belle’s latest range of plate compactors incorporate tough, moulded engine guards normally doubling as logo display areas, it has been possible for the company to produce a dedicated version using Hewden’s own logo and corporate colour.

This close co-operation enables Hewden Hirer Centres to put its Belle equipment straight out on hire, without wasting time and expense on undertaking the branding work itself.

Belle also worked closely with Hewden and its customer base during the development of the recently announced ‘Streetworks’ plate. This 47 kg unit fully complies with the HAUC 1400 kg/m2 category for highway reinstatements and Hewden Hire Centres has already placed an order for an initial batch of 50 units. These plates will be supplied to a number of local councils and utility contractors which have pending work demanding the use of HAUC compliant equipment.

This order follows on the heels of others by Hewden for large numbers of Belle single direction and reversible plate compactors as well as ‘Premier’ site mixers.

  Dec 2002 2002 REVIEW
Belle Group has enjoyed huge success with each of the product ranges launched earlier this year.

The new range of reversible plates has been the subject of unprecedented demand, including a single order for over 600 units from a major hirer in the Netherlands. In fact, this order accounted for total output for a while and the company has only recently been able to begin satisfying demand from the home market. Since these plates were added to Belle’s comprehensive range of plates the company has also extended the range to give a choice of eleven models with operating weights from 140 kg up to 500 kg.

The Group also continues to exploit the potential for its patented ‘Dual Force’ plates which fully comply with the very latest compaction requirements for highway reinstatements.

Belle has also now sold nearly 100 of its 5 kVA semi-silent generators since full production commenced in mid August. This unit meets the latest 99 LWA noise level regulations and is thus proving extremely popular within the hire industry.
Interest in the new 751 model skid steer loader is currently at a point where the company is able to sell every one it can make. Powered by an economical Yanmar 3-cylinder diesel engine developing 23 kW @ 2800 rpm, the 751 has a payload of 510 kg and a compact width of just 1370 mm and an impressive ground clearance of 228 mm.

In addition to the huge Dutch order, Belle’s export sales continue to expand and, in recent months, the company has enjoyed particular success in Russia, the Baltic states and South America.

  Nov 2002 'HOCUS POKERS'
Everyone knows that aggregate, sand, cement and water mixed together make an excellent product called concrete. However, the mixing process also introduces an undesirable fifth element which, if left in the mix, can severely reduce its finished strength.

The troublesome ingredient is of course air. The effects of large air voids or micro air bubbles in concrete can have disastrous and costly consequences on a construction project and so a considerable amount of care is normally taken to ensure its removal.

The practical way of expelling this unwanted air is to use vibration. Whilst vibrating screeds are usually employed to tackle floor slabs, pokers are extremely useful for most other areas.

Although floor slabs are best compacted using one of the many types of screeding device available, most other areas are usually dealt with using vibrating pokers.
There are four main types of poker, all consisting of a steel head containing a vibrating device which is connected to a power source by means of a hose or shaft doubling as a handle.

The simplest type contains an eccentric weight rotated via a flexible shaft driven by a portable electric motor or 2-stroke petrol engine. Frequency of the poker head is determined by the speed of the motor and is typically 216 Hz from an engine speed of around 13,000 rpm. These pokers are light and easy to set-up and use and so perfect for most small jobs.

The most common type of poker also uses a flexible shaft to transmit power from a petrol engine to the head but uses a different method to create the vibration. A steel rod held at one end by a bearing is rotated, causing instability and hence vibration. The oscillation produced is four times greater than the speed of shaft rotation, hence enabling the unit to be run a low speeds for increased durability. Another major advantage of this type of poker is that its lower rpm requirement allows it to be attached to a reliable 4- stroke engine running at just 3000 rpm to achieve a vibration frequncy of 200 Hz.

Pneumatic pokers offer a convenient and reliable option where a compressed air supply is available. This type of poker uses just two components to provide an efficient motor/vibrator combination. A typical example will give a very high vibration frequency of 300 Hz and will feature an in-line oiler with the throttle control to help maintain top performance and reliability.

Recently, new poker technology has been introduced onto the UK market from Europe involving the use of high frequency electricity. These units use a safe, low voltage, three-phase supply to power an electric motor located within the poker head. This motor drives an eccentric weight mounted on the same spindle to give the necessary vibration. The RPM of the motor, and therefore the frequency of the vibration, is determined by the frequency of the electric supply. As the standard UK supply is 50 Hz and is much too low to give an acceptable vibrator frequency, a converter is used to increase frequency to 200 Hz and drop voltage to a safe 42v.
These pokers are usually refered to as ‘high frequency’ units because of the electric supply required, not because the vibration frequency is high. To take full advantage of the safety inherent with a 42v electric supply, the converter should be a separate unit and located away from the working area in much the same way as a 110v isolating transformer.

Belle Group has recently introduced its own, totally new BGN range of electric high frequency units which are available with a choice of four head sizes from 36 to 65 mm. These pokers are powered by the company’s BGF converters which provide the correct 200 Hz, 42v 3-phase supply from regular 230v or 400 v 3-phase inputs.
In addition, Belle has extended its range of lightweight, electric flexible shaft pokers, now renamed Megavib, with the introduction of 25 mm and 55 mm head units with a choice of 2, 3 or 4 m long shafts.

At the other end of the scale, the company has also increased its range of BGP pneumatic pokers with the launch of a huge 140 mm diameter solid shaft unit.

Jun 2002 IMPROVED MINIMIX 150 FROM BELLE
Belle Group has announced the introduction of the latest version of its market leading Minimix 150 portable concrete mixer.

The new model incorporates several modifications which are the result of both on-going testing at Belle’s Derbyshire factory plus regular customer feedback.
The most significant change is to the design of the mixing paddles. These now feature a series of carefully placed round holes which not only reduce mixing times but also improve mix consistency by providing better aeration.

The electric powered model also now benefits from a glanded 3 m long cable and plug which allows the motor and cable to be tested as one assembly and a new on/off switch offers greater reliability and resistance to damage.

Finally, to improve impact protection to the mixer’s gearbox and mainframe, the two gearbox support gussets have been re-positioned following drop tests carried out by Belle’s R & D department.
